Our Masonic Year is Almost Over

This has been a mixed year for our Lodge.  We took in a few new members but a few of our old members died this year.  Also a couple of our Widows died this year.

At our December Stated Meeting we reelected most of the previous year's Officers.  The only change was for Junior Warden, which was taken by one of our newest members.

The Annual Christmas Party for Widows was a great evening.  About 80 people attended and a good time was had by all.

We may have a new candidate in January.

Our next Stated Meeting is on 08 January 2015 at 7:30 PM.  Be there!

That is also the Annual Meeting of the Hall Association which starts at 6 PM.

Next Event will be the Lodge Christmas Party on Pearl Harbor Day

We will hold our annual Christmas Party on 07 December 2014 starting at 5 PM.

If you have not attended this event the food is always fantastic.

This event is free to the widows of our deceased members but members and guests are expected to contribute a token fee of $12.00 for adults and $6.00 for children.  It is well worth the cost of the meal.

If interested please contact Lori or Kevin Griffin at 724-654-9057 for reservations.

We can serve up to about 100 people.

Reserve you spot today.

10 August 2014 Thanks

Thanks go out to those few members who worked to make our annual Ox Roast a success.  Also thanks go out to those members who bought tickets for the Ox Roast.

For some reason most of our members never bother to help our Lodge when we hold a fundraiser.  I do not know why they do not  help.  Probably one out of five members assisted in some way by either buying a tickets or by buying tickets and helping serve the dinner.  I will try t get a more accurate number if I get the time.

The food, as usual, was great.  Great roast beef and the corn was perhaps the sweetest corn I have ever consumed.

Fortunately we had help from several people who were not members of our Lodge.  They deserve a special thanks.

Annual Roast Beef Dinner (AKA Ox Roast) on 09 August 2014

Wilmington Lodge No. 804 will be holding its annual OX ROAST on Saturday 09 August 2014 from 3 until 7 PM.

This is always a good feast consisting of roast beef, corn on the cob, dessert and drinks.  I probably neglected to list something else that will be served.

The donation requested is still only $10.00 per adult and $5.00 per child under 12 even though the cost of beef has really increased.

Members are encouraged to come out and help those of us who always work at our lodge fundraisers and are also encouraged to come and eat.

We will have workers there at least by 10 AM.  Help will be appreciated all day long.  Even if you can only come in for an hour or so your help is needed.

Please help us make this a success.

Hope to see you there!

10 May 2014 Whiting Family Foods Open House

For the past few years our Lodge has helped Brother Sam Whiting at his open house and BBQ cook off.

We have always had a good time there and will be there again on 10 May 2014.

This year we are going to be selling or French Fries and we are to help judge the BBQ cook off.  It there is anything our Lodge knows about , it is food!  If you ask any Mason who has been to our Lodge about which Lodge has the best food, Wilmington Lodge will often be named.  We may not do a lot of other things well but we sure do put on a good feed!

If you get a chance come to the open house.  The food there is always great!

Funeral Service

On 07 May 2014 our Lodge will hold a Masonic Funeral Service for Brother Carl M. Elder at Smith's Funeral Home in New Wilmington, PA.

Carl was a Warrant Member of our Lodge who died on 05 May 2014 at the age of 96.

Carl was an interesting man, to say the very least.  Not many folks had a concrete dinosaur and a caveman in their yard.  Anytime Carl was present the event was interesting.
