16 Mar 2017 MM Degree

A Master Mason's Degree was held at Wilmington Lodge No. 804 on 16 March 2017 at 7:30 PM. Those who attended were treated to a great Degree conferred by Bro Thompson. It seem that the Candidate was rather impressed with the Degree.

Also, those who attended had the pleasure of consuming a great meal of roast pork, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut, and rolls  provided by the Lodge. Dessert was a great chocolate cake with peanut butter icing provided by the wife of one of our members.

Our Lodge has quite a few great cooks who serve us quite fantastic meals! It is worth attending our Lodge just for the food! In addition to the food we always have a good time. All Masonic Visitors are always welcome at our Lodge. Often the wives and girlfriends of Members also attend the meals. It is hoped that those in attendance make a donation to cover the cost of the fine culinary delights. Good food is not cheap! In days past many men threw in a quarter for the meal. A somewhat reasonable donation for the meals is a Fin (A $5.00 bill). You will not get a better meal anywhere on Earth for a $5.00 donation.

08 Feb 2017 Lodge Practice

Practice was held at the Lodge this evening at 7:30 PM.

We went over Opening and Closing the Lodge. Mostly PMs were present but also one of our newest members.

The Stewards were also there starting tomorrow evening's meal.  It will be pulled pork and hash browns. The pork already smelled good and it will slowly cook overnight. I must remember to not eat tomorrow until I get to Lodge. (Breakfast does not count toward this requirement!)

Our Lodge gets a lot of compliments on our meals.  We eat great food!

Masons get blamed for a lot of things by a lot of people. Our Lodge might be guilty of gluttony! We love to eat tasty meals and we do not care if eating them upsets anyone. Our meals will not usually please vegans or others who do not appreciate cooked critters. That leave more for us to eat..

06 Feb 2017 Roundtable Discussion

The usually monthly Roundtable Discussion was held this evening at Harmony Lodge No. 429.

All Masons are welcome to attend and participate. The discussions start at 7 PM and usually last about an hour. Food is usually served.

The discussion for tonight was about the Landmarks of Freemasonry. For more information do a search online for Masonic Landmarks.  You will find a lot of data.

The topic of the March Roundtable to be held on 06 March 2017 will concern the ancient ritual that seems to have involved Noah instead of King Solomon. Should be interesting.

Do some research and bring your ideas to share with the rest of us.

Donations are welcome at these events to help cover the cost of the food.

25 January 2017

25 January 2017
It has been a while since I have updated this blog.

Brethren,
Last year, 2016, was a hard year on our Lodge as we lost about 8% of our Members to death. As of today we have about 104 members in our Lodge.  Many members have paid their dues for 2017 but about 30 have not yet paid. Payment of dues has been extended until the March Stated meeting. If you have not yet paid your dues please do so soon.

Our next Stated meeting will be on the 2nd Thursday of February 2017.

We also plan to have a Fat Tuesday Party at the Lodge on Fat Tuesday, imagine that.
